Datatronics Transformer
 
May 1, 2008 - Datatronics Romoland Inc. announced effective May 1, 2008 as being classified as a "Small Woman Minority Owned Business" by the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) under public law 95-507 and 100-656. Datatronics Romoland Inc. is identified as such with the Central Contracts Registration office (CCR) in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.1102.
 
November 1, 2007 - Datatronics Romoland published a white paper written by Kirby Creel, Senior Design Engineer on transformer design for charging capacitors. Generating high voltage by means of flyback topology is a common approach. Using the generated voltage to charge a capacitor for a high energy pulse are used in defibrillators, photo-flashes, strobes and ignition circuits to name a few. The procedure outlined in this article is useful in the initial transformer design phase for charging a capacitor in a stated time.
